Synonyms: loved, loving, lover, lovers

Preanalysis assumption: In coming, to the symbol “love” I feel a certain hesitation, even trepidation, one has to measure up to much when one takes this greatest word in all language to mouth. Emily had to when she chose to make it a symbol in her secret language, I will have to in the interpretations I lay upon it, and as much at least in the test it puts me to, whether I am really called for to be the exponent of her secret work. In other words: I’ll have to measure up to Emily herself, not only to the term “love”. All I can do is to do my best, and come back again and again to further attempts to improve the analysis. I’ll forego for once to state here my preconceptions of the symbol, and instead try to develop them as I go along.
